Harrington and McIlroy highlight the benefits of the Genworth Financial Statistics
Baltray, Ireland (13 May 2009) - As the season unfolds, European Tour Professionals continue to analyze the Genworth Financial Statistics helping to fine tune their game and contemplate the opportunity of winning this year’s 3 Irish Open. The ‘Genworth Financial Statistics’ provide Tour members with invaluable analysis of their performance. Every shot played by every Tour member is profiled throughout the season, with the results collated into nine categories: Stroke Average, Driving Accuracy, Driving Distance, Greens in Regulation, Putts per Round, One-Putts per Round, Sand Saves and Scrambles and a new category for 2009, Putts per Greens in Regulation. Irish Players’ Lead in 3 Statistical Categories The 3 Irish Open, has attracted a strong field including statistics leaders Rory Mcllroy and Padraig Harrington who will be determined to play well in front of a home crowd. McIlroy currently leads the coveted Stroke Average statistics category whilst Harrington tops both the Putts per Round and Scrambles categories. By assessing a particular category it is easy for Tour players to determine where their individual and competitor strengths currently lie. In contrast the statistics also provide a clear indicator to which aspects of a player’s game needs improvement and once addressed, maximizes the opportunity for the player to perform to their best. Padraig Harrington comments, “I think it’s vital that every player looks at their stats! It gives you complete feedback on how you are playing, both the good and not so good. If a player is struggling a little bit with their game they can look at their stats for something to work on and nine times out of ten it will be correct.” Rory McIlroy adds, "I obviously have a good idea of how I am doing, but it is always interesting to find out how everyone else is playing as well. The stats are an integral part of our tournament preparation helping us visualise what is happening and how individual performances are shaping up." Genworth’s sponsorship of the European Tour has made it possible for Genworth to sponsor the “Putts For Charity” initiative, involving both European Tour professionals and the public, that helped raise over €179,000 ($244,268) for good causes last year. ## About Genworth Financial Genworth Financial, Inc.
